Microsoft, which we know in the gaming world mainly for its activities on the console side, seems to have decided to strengthen its position in this field with a new acquisition. Microsoft announced that it acquired ZeniMax Media, which develops important games of the gaming industry. ZeniMax Media, which includes companies such as id Software (Doom, Quake), Arkane Studios (Dishonored, Prey), Tango Gameworks (The Evil Within) and Bethesda Game Studios (The Elder Scrolls, Fallout), was sold to Microsoft for 7.5 billion dollars.
With this acquisition, games such as The Elder Scrolls, Fallout and Doom come under Microsoft ownership. Although some of these games could be played on Xbox and PC, some were exclusive to the PlayStation console. We wouldn't be wrong if we say that these special games will also come to Xbox and PC, although not in the short term.

The agreement is expected to be accepted in the second quarter of 2021 after the approval of the regulatory authorities. With the agreement, Microsoft seems to strengthen its hand on both the Xbox and PC side. The acquired ZeniMax includes companies that develop many of the famous and popular games of the gaming industry.
It is thought that this step, taken before the release of Microsoft's new console Series X and Series S models, was taken to strengthen the company's place in the gaming industry.
