Information theft, which has increased as we store our private data and information in digital environments, is now protected by some software. We can all guess that software-sized protection cannot compete with hardware-sized protection.
Intel continues its work on security at full speed. The company, which wants to offer its users a high-level security experience, aims to develop a special security chip. Intel Control-Flow Enforcement Technology (Intel CET) The product named seems to provide protection from hackers with hardware support.
Intel CET will come embedded in Tiger Lake class processors:

The technique Intel used when designing its product is a method already used in advanced antivirus programs. To protect against malware, software-based security systems do not seem to be sufficient to reduce the threat. Intel steps in at this point and aims to use the security chips it has developed in its upcoming mobile processors called Tiger Lake.
As the security systems used by computers progress, hackers are becoming more skilled day by day. Especially Oriented Programming (FROCK) and Jump Oriented Programming (JOP), which are very popular among the hacking methods. The reason why JOP or ROP attacks are so difficult to detect is because the attacker constantly changes their behavior.

Intel CET, Indirect Branch Tracking (IBT) and Shadow Stack (SS) offers two paths. While IBT technology helps to protect against JOP attack methods, SS technology also protects against ROP attacks. Let's add that all these structures are embedded in the chipset as hardware, not software.
Intel says the product will be available on future desktop and server platforms. Microsoft is already working on integrating it with Windows 10. In Windows 10 Insider Preview A preview of Intel CET support is also available under the name Stack Protection.
