Microsoft Opens Data Center in Greece

Microsoft, has one of the worst economies in Europe and has gone through a very difficult period during the coronavirus period. Within the scope of this investment, which is thought to help the Greek economy, three large data centers will be established in Athens.

This news, announced by US technology giant Microsoft and Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis, was also up to 100,000 workers and includes a 9-month confidential agreement covering digital skills training programs for educators and students. 

Microsoft President Brad Smith said at a ceremony held at the Acropolis Museum:This is an important investment, a reflection of our confidence in the Greek economy, the Greek people and the Greek government. This investment is not something we make often and take lightly.” he said. 

Greece is trying to recover its economy with technological investments

Microsoft currently operates in total, 7 of which are in the European Union. Data centers in 27 countries owner. The company is currently working on an augmented reality project with the Greek government in Ancient Olympia, where the Olympic games started.
