Reason for Developing Apple Silicon: Intel Skylake Architecture

US-based technology giant Apple, WWDC 2020 made a very important statement within the scope of its events and announced the company's own processors, "Apple Silicon", which will be used in laptops. This statement also meant that Apple would move away from Intel processors in the coming periods.

For now, we can see what Apple's Mac computers with its own processors promise. we don't know. However, a former Intel engineer who made some statements on the subject states that this development will be a turning point for Apple. Because, according to an engineer named François Piednoël, Apple actually started to complain about Intel with the introduction of the Skylake architecture in 2015.

“The most problematic customer for the Skylake architecture was Apple.”

According to former Intel engineer, Apple is making too much money on processors with Skylake architecture. had problems. Stating that the quality assurance of this architecture is abnormally poor, the engineer said that there was no of healing He says that it did not happen and that it even got worse.

It is obvious that Apple places great value on software and hardware integration. The company believes that the desired success will only be possible by maintaining full control over a manufactured product. Apple, which we already met with iPad and iPhone 4 in 2010 processors is an indication of this.

Still, switching to Apple Silicon is an easy process it won't happen It should not be forgotten. In its statements, the company says that the first computer with an Apple Silicon processor will arrive in late 2020 and the transformation will be completed within two years. In this process with Intel processor Time will tell whether computers will come out.
