ASELSAN Brings New Technologies to Armored Vehicles

ASELSAN, one of the main actors in the development of many systems used on land platforms, continues its work to keep all weapon systems, especially tanks and armored vehicles, which are in the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces, maintained and developed according to current technology, ready for combat at all times, and to lead the way in meeting future needs with the technologies it will develop.

ASELSAN, which has recently assumed responsibility for two important contracts in the field of land platforms, will produce mission equipment including command and control, communication, remote-controlled Sarp and Nefer gun turrets, navigation, electro optics and land radar systems for the 6×6 and 8×8 Special Purpose Tactical Wheeled Armored Vehicles (ÖMTTAV), which will join the inventory of the security forces. It will also modernize the armored combat vehicles in the inventory.

The 25 millimeter Nefer Weapon System and ANS-420K Tactical Level Positioning System, which will be integrated into vehicles with the ÖMTTZA Project, will be included in the Turkish Armed Forces inventory for the first time.

The Rules of Land Battles Will Change Over Time

ASELSAN, which was appointed as the main contractor in the Armored Combat Vehicle (ACV) Modernization Project, will also offer the Nefer 25 Millimeter Weapon System, which it developed specifically for armored combat vehicles, to the use of the infantry class. ASELSAN systems and sub-systems belonging to other stakeholders such as armor, mine protection, protection lining, Chemical-Biological-Radiological-Nuclear System, Automatic Fire Extinguishing System and air conditioning will be integrated into the vehicles under the responsibility of the main contractor and as the entire system responsible.

Within the scope of the project, self-funded technology demonstration studies will be carried out on the application of unmanned ground vehicles and the integration of the Pulat Active Protection System. The ACV Modernization Project has a special place because ASELSAN is responsible for the management of activities for all armored vehicles.

It is of great importance for the Turkish defense industry that ASELSAN allocates more resources and effort to this issue, in line with the expectation that UAVs will change the rules of land combat in the future.

Among the works carried out by ASELSAN, the future on the battlefields It includes the development and production of unmanned systems of various sizes that will be widely used, can be controlled remotely, have the ability to make and implement decisions on their own, and can operate in all kinds of conditions.

ASELSAN, unmanned aerial, sea and land vehicles, bomb disposal robots It also signed a contract with the Presidency of Defense Industries for middle-class level 2 UAVs, which have been used for many years. With the project in which Katmerciler is also the platform manufacturer, armed UAVs will be delivered to the Land Forces Command.
