The claim that Formula 1 is coming to Turkey, which has been expressed in many media in recent weeks and was first put forward by Fatih Altaylı, turned out to be true. Formula 1 races, which were last held in our country in 2011, are returning this year.
Formula 1 is coming to Turkey again!
Confirmation on the subject came from Eren Üçlertoprağı, President of the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation. Confirming Fatih Altaylı's statement, the federation president announced that the date was finalized. Accordingly, Formula 1 will be held at Intercity Istanbul Park between 13-14-15 November this year. Moreover, the race will be held with spectators. However, due to the coronavirus outbreak, it is not clear yet how this race with spectators will be organized. Probably a certain number of spectators will be able to watch the race under certain conditions.
Formula 1 races have been held on this track before. MotoGP races were also held on this track. The Turkish leg of both competitions had not been held for many years.
